about

Debut single from Spain's When Nalda Became Punk. They wowed us with their self released ep and this their first single follows in a similarly classy fashion. Punky yet sweet this is lo fi indie punk pop at it's very best!

When Nalda Became Punk started as the solo project of Elena Sestelo (Vigo, Spain). In 2006 she gathered some songs, inspired by artists such as Heavenly, Ash, Helen Love or Belle and Sebastian and released “Tiny noises make tiny music” her first demo, though at the time the name of the project was just Nalda.

After a long break, she came back to recording songs during summer of 2010 when she finished her second demo “Time to meet your family” which was her first release using the name of When Nalda became punk (taken from one of her new songs, yet to be released). She also released a free digital single with Bubbletone Records on November 2010, still available on their website.

Later on, in 2011, Roberto Cibeira and José Oliveira joined the band completing the current line-up of When Nalda Became Punk. Pebble Records is proud to present their debut single. The two songs included, exclusive to this single, are “When Nalda Became Punk” and “DIY”. The single was produced and recorded by Eva Guilala and Ivan Juniper from the Spanish band Linda Guilala at their Kaiju Studios (Vigo, Spain) and was mixed and produced by Ian Catt (producer of Saint Ettiene, the Field Mice, the School, Nosoträsh, etc).

The band is currently at the studio, working in their first full length album, planned for release later this year.
